It is said Blondes have more fun – now I’ve always been a blonde, its natural, so I cannot argue.

Some weird facts about blondes;

  • 1. Blondes get tipped more.
  • 2. Blonde jokes started around 250 years ago.
  • 3. Mythical creatures are blonde.
  • 4. Blonde comes in 30 shades.
  • 5. Blondes have more hair.
  • 6. Blondes do it better.

Today I am going to be reviewing the John Frieda Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Shampoo and Conditioner.

I have teamed up with Rubybox to bring you this review but all thoughts and feelings are all honest and completely my own.

I am a natural blonde, I always have been. I have never highlighted my hair at a salon or at home. The only product I have ever put in my hair is the John Frieda inshower-lightening treatment as well as the John Frieda Go Blonder Controlled Lightening Spray, which lightens your hair 2 shades. As you can see I am a John Frieda junkie and I love the brand!

So teaming up in this review was an absolute yes!

What John Frieda says about the Sheer Blonde Colour Renew Shampoo and Conditioner;

Neutralise brassy tones. Achieve salon-fresh blonde.
With Colour-Correcting Technology, this purple conditioner revitalises and re-balances blonde when used with our tone-correcting shampoo. Enhanced with Optical Brightening Technology to absorb UV light and emit a white-blue glow, so colour-treated blonde tones appear brighter. Additional conditioning agents renew softness for essential hydration.
Suitable for all shades of colour-treated or highlighted blonde hair.

I have now used this Shampoo and Conditioner combo for 5 washes.

The Shampoo and Conditioner come in a beautiful purple silver and black squeeze dispensing bottle. The packaging is really pretty and catchy as well as sophisticated!

The product is a purple shade (dont get a fright – your hair will not turn purple hehe! πŸ™‚ ) The product is a silky purple texture that lathers up really well! Hence the purple splashes all over my shower walls πŸ˜‰

The first thing I noticed about this combo after the first wash was that my hair felt extremely smooth and silky. It also looked as though I had just walked out the salon!

After the next few washes I started to notice a slight change in colour. It was not drastic but definitely felt as though my hair colour had toned down. I have natural highlights in my hair – more of a white blonde- that I have not seen in awhile, which did appear after the next few washes.

I do not think I would use this combo every time I wash my hair but definitely every 2 – 3 washes. I however only wash my hair once a week as I feel more is bad for my hair and it tends to get dirty then more quickly.

My hair after 5 washes.

This combo definitely has left me in love! My hair is more hydrated, it’s lost the static that I was battling with after winter and its definitely brought out the white and lighter tones in my hair!
I would definitely recommend this product if you looking to banish the brass tones in your hair!

Beat the Brass with John Frieda! πŸ™‚
